Team Toybox reflection: Our hopes and dreams for 2026

Updates • Jan 2026

As we step into the new year, Team Toybox have taken time to reflect on the past year and look ahead to 2026 with hope and determination. 2025 brought both challenges and exciting opportunities, and we’re proud of the progress we’ve made alongside our amazing local partners to improve the lives of street children across the globe.

We are excited to share our hopes and dreams for the year ahead, from protecting more children from abuse and exploitation to reaching even more street children with life-changing support:

Smita, Programme Manager for Africa and Asia: "I hope and pray that in 2026 we see fewer children on the streets across the world. May Toybox gain the resources, support, and strengthened local partnerships needed to reach those who are most vulnerable and help ensure each child feels safe and valued."

Gerry, Marketing and Content Manager: "My hope for 2026 is that even more children and young people in street situations can share their own stories and creativity with the world - so their voices lead the conversation."

Lynne, CEO: "For 2026, my dream is for every child to feel loved and cherished, and for governments everywhere - including ours - to respond to children with compassion and care."

Nicky, Head of Philanthropic Giving: "My hope is that we reach as many street children as possible, so they can start their journeys for a secure fulfilling future."

Jenny, Income and Database Administrator: “My prayer for 2026 is that everyone – families, communities, governments – will work together to ensure that the world is a safer and fairer place for children.”

Naomi O, Director of Impact and Programmes: "My hope for 2026 is that more children and young people are protected from abuse and exploitation."

Lorraine, Relationships Manager: "My hope for 2026 is that together we build a world where street children and their families feel safe, valued, and empowered to shape their own futures, free from fear and full of possibility."

Naomi L, Director of Marketing and Fundraising: "By the end of 2026 I hope that Toybox has reached even more street children with life-changing support, expanded our projects to new communities, and inspired more people to join us in creating a world where no child is forced to live or work on the streets."

Kagna, Finance Officer: "My hope for 2026 is that we can smoothly achieve our short and medium-term strategic plans - with continued growth and that the street children that we support can live with greater safety, stability, and opportunity."

Roz, Programme Manager for Latin America: "My hope and dreams for 2026 is for increased commitment from decision makers, communities and each of us to ensure that the voices of children and young people in street situations are heard and respected and that they have hope for a brighter future."

Emilie, Head of Individual Giving: “I hope that in 2026 we can continue to stand alongside our partners to make sure the most vulnerable children and families are not forgotten when emergencies strike. I hope we can help them prepare for disasters and respond quickly when crises happen, so street children have the support they need to survive and recover."

Isla, Graduate Marketing and Fundraising Officer: "I hope that in 2025 we are able to open more doors for street children, giving them the support they need to create the future they dream of."
