There have been many successes and innovations to celebrate over the past few months at Toybox. This work is made possible by you, our supporters, who help ensure that street children have access to the support they need. We are delighted to share some of the achievements and positive stories that you have helped create recently.
Bolivia
Alalay have now rolled out their new FlagBags project. The FlagBags are mini versions of our mobile school project, except this time the mobile school panels have been turned into easily portable cloth sheets. They feature different topics related to health, self-care, decision-making and life planning. So far, 45 children have participated in 17 sessions.

El Salvador
Toybox’s partner, Viva, has created community protection committees which are led by participating children, young people and supported families in the community. We are delighted to learn that there are now 41 children and young people actively running two elected protection committees. These committees are used as a way of engaging with local communities to strengthen the rights of children and young people and serves as a space for young people to have their voices heard.
Guatemala
In Guatemala, CONACMI have integrated art and music lessons into their core teaching approach to help connect with students and allow them to express themselves and escape from their environment. This approach of integrating art and music is particularly important for early years learning as it can help generate abstract thinking. This is a fantastic new way of engaging students, and the students were excited to share their progress with their families in a recent showcase.

India
At the end of the school year, 457 street children in Jaipur took their annual school exams and 93% of them passed! This is such an achievement, and we are delighted to hear of their successes.

Nepal
As many of you may know, there were mass demolitions in Kathmandu that caused disruption to our work in Nepal and sadly resulted in the demolition of our learning centre. In the immediate aftermath, activities were temporarily moved so street children could still be supported. We’re thrilled that our partner SathSath has now found a suitable location near the community and has re-set up to continue project work.
Ethiopia
Continuing with the education theme, 276 students at the night school in Ethiopia have successfully completed a second semester of learning. The students involved in the night school are showing incredible determination to build a brighter future for themselves.

Kenya
A mobile birth registration day was held by our partner Pendekezu Letu (PKL) in Kenya on September 16th. The PKL team worked with the government to create a mass registration drive. Thanks to the hard work of the team, around 65 birth registrations were done that day.
