Whilst we often share the challenges that street children face, we also think it’s important to take the time to celebrate the successes. Across our projects, children, young people, and their families, are showing incredible strength and determination to build brighter futures. From breaking down stigma and strengthening family relationships to developing new skills and speaking up for children’s rights, these recent successes remind us that positive change is possible.
India
Thanks to the work of our partner, CHETNA, 253 women and girls recently took part in menstrual health awareness sessions. As part of these activities, the participants worked together to create and perform a song about menstruation. We are delighted to see young people using their voices with such confidence and creativity.

Kenya
We are delighted that eight street children have been successfully reintegrated with their families in Kenya. This follows months of careful work, including tracing family members, assessing home environments, providing counselling, and facilitating mediation sessions to help rebuild trust. Regular follow-up visits and ongoing support will help ensure each child thrives.
El Salvador
To mark the International Day for Street Children, two inspiring young leaders from Viva El Salvador took to the airwaves to champion children’s rights. The girls appeared on five national radio stations, sharing their experiences and speaking passionately about the importance of protecting and promoting the rights of children.

Bolivia
In Bolivia, exciting progress is being made through the Toybox-supported economic empowerment programme. A total of 31 young people completed small business training, equipping them with valuable skills to help turn their ideas into sustainable livelihoods. Of those participants, 10 demonstrated exceptional commitment and potential and have been selected for an advanced stage of support, where they are receiving additional guidance to further develop their business ideas. And a new agreement with FIE Bank in La Paz is helping showcase participants’ products to wider markets, creating new opportunities for growth.
Milton Keynes
Finally, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the 2026 Milton Keynes Marathon Weekend in support of Toybox. Together our incredible team raised over £6.5K, a truly fantastic achievement! We loved cheering on our runners, thank you for going the extra mile for Toybox!
