Combining delicious street food with raising awareness and funds for charity, the date for the 2nd annual Milton Keynes-based Sophie’s Street Feast has been announced today; this must-attend event will take place on Sunday, 22nd September 2024, from 11am to 4pm at the MK City Discovery Centre.
Sophie’s Street Feast is a celebration of community, charity, and eclectic culinary delights; the 2023 event hosted by Sophie etc. and charity Toybox, welcomed an impressive 3,000+ visitors who sampled food from all around the world, while learning more about Milton Keynes-based charities and the work they do both here in the UK and internationally.
New for 2024 is the addition of corporate partners, QLM Search and Brioche Pasquier, and charity partner YMCA Milton Keynes, who support young people locally with accommodation, employment and advice. Commenting on the opportunity to be involved, Lorraine Devereux, Fundraising Manager at YMCA MK, said:
“YMCA Milton Keynes are thrilled to have been chosen as a charity partner for this year’s Sophie’s Street Feast. After the success of last year’s event, we are excited to be involved and look forward to sharing the invaluable work we do supporting local young people. We understand the importance of food in bringing communities together, with our café HomeGround and our successful SoupFest campaign making us ideal partners.””

Sophie Neal, blogger for Sophie etc. said, “It was an incredible sight last September to bring together over 3,000 local people to celebrate the variety of local food, as well as raise awareness for local charities, including our partner Toybox. I would be really interested in hearing from any food vendors who would like to be involved this year, helping us to spread the word of how great Milton Keynes-based cuisine really can be.”
Lynne Morris OBE, CEO of Toybox commented: “Sophie’s Street Feast is fast becoming one of our favourite events, and not just because the food is incredible! It’s a wonderful platform for us to promote the work that Toybox does for street children in six countries around the world, providing them with hope and dignity. We would like to thank Sophie for joining with us again this year, and can’t wait to see the variety of cuisines on offer”.
