For 15 years, Llamarama has supported Toybox, donating a share of every sale to help protect children from poverty, trafficking and exploitation. A fair trade organisation working with artisan partners across El Salvador, Guatemala and Peru, Llamarama puts people and craft before profit and has chosen to make that partnership with Toybox part of its business from early on.
We caught up with Izabela and Caroline from Llamarama to hear more about why they support Toybox, what the partnership means to them, and the products customers love most.
What motivated you to raise funds for Toybox at Llamarama?
Llamarama is inspired by and shares the vision of Toybox, to protect all children, and indeed all people, from poverty, trafficking and exploitation. It is great to support Toybox with every Llamarama sale. At Llamarama we want to see a world where all business puts people, the planet and her inhabitants, both great and small, before profit. This is what fair trade is all about.
What does the impact of your support mean to you?
In addition to supporting our fair trade partners in El Salvador, Guatemala and Peru, we at Llamarama love to add to this positive impact by supporting Toybox too- this is real business for change and means so much to us.

Which Llamarama item do customers love the most?
The beautiful Guatemalan handwoven stoles are one of our most popular lines. These stoles are made by highly skilled indigenous women around Lake Atitlan and are sold all over the world. The orders from Llamarama help these women to lift themselves out of poverty and recognise their incredible craft work and skill whilst helping maintain traditional industries.
