Toybox Speakers

Who are they?

Amy

I first heard about Toybox when I was in Guatemala at a project which supported vulnerable young boys who had previously lived and worked on the streets.

Ever since, Toybox’s work has been extremely close to my heart. Ask anyone I meet and they’ll tell you how much I adore Guatemala and value Toybox’s work to support street children in several countries.

As a youth worker, I love speaking to the young and the old about changing our world and being a Toybox speaker enables me to spread this ambition far and wide. Street children deserve a chance and Toybox offers them that chance.

David & Dorothy

We first heard about Toybox when one of the founders spoke at the Methodist Church in Rugby in 1998.

The following summer, we met the Toybox Team at New Wine and started volunteering at other events. Each year, we have a Christmas Sale and Coffee Morning to tell people about what Toybox is doing to change the world for street children.

In 2008 and 2012, we visited Guatemala and saw some of the areas in and around the capital, Guatemala City, where Toybox works with street children. Following these visits, we had many invitations and opportunities to speak about the work and to raise funds.

What you’ll get by being a Toybox Speaker:

  • Access to a special online space where you can download the most up to date material from Toybox to make your talks engaging and fresh.
  • A dedicated member of the Toybox team to help you with any questions or requests that you may have.
  • Great resources, presentations and stories to bring your talks alive.
  • An open online space where you can discuss your Speaker experiences with others.
  • Annual training days with some of Toybox's staff at the Milton Keynes office which will offer you the chance to hear all the latest news and to meet other speakers.
  • The challenge of attending at least five speaking engagements per year so that as many people as possible can hear about how street children’s lives are being changed.

We look forward to hearing from you!
